Buy the author a coffee. ☕️ Revolut to 085 1214347 The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) is a statutory body of the Department of Education. As can be guessed from the title the council maps out the educational curriculum and how best to assess our children from early childhood right through to the Leaving Certificate. Presently, the NCCA has 26 members and all are appointed by the minister of Education for four year terms. The latest crew of appointments are with us until 2026. This council is supported by a further three development groups with their own boards. Just in case you’re wondering where your tax yoyos are getting poured down a eco-friendly drain. Hedge-schools might be due a come-back methinks.
These are the bodies doing more damage than 'here today, gone tomorrow' politicians I might opine. Politicians invariably go where the wind blows. These are the psychotics who do the real damage.
A revival of the Hedge School sounds good. In the meantime, let's encourage our kids to think for themselves, even if that means holding a different opinion to their teachers in mainstream schools, or to their peers, or even to their parents.
Does that include a side seminar on ‘white privilege’ given heterosexual whites are presumably the root cause of climate change? I’m all for teaching respect for the environment and minimising waste. I’m also for nuclear power - which, if these climate activists were truly concerned about climate (versus population control), we’d be rolling out (if only we could rescue the funding we spend on housing and feeding non-citizens). Also, if we want to really help the kids - in all of the western world - a solid education on basic finance, debt, how mortgages work, compound interest, investing, value of gold, etc. would arm the young from becoming debt slaves. Not to mention teaching them the value of our fundamental right to free speech if we want to call ourselves a free people.
Only one solution to this and that's for Irish people to get out an vote in upcoming elections and vote the bastards in FF, FG, SF, GREEN, LAB , SD, PBP out out and out. Dont even give them a transfer. We done it in the recent referendum which has put a stop to referendums for a very long time. We can do it it again and by God I would love to see the squirming faces of Mickey Martin, Harris and McDonald after getting an absolute election hiding. Fucken love it.
How absolutely bizarre to have created a subject out of that religion. I spotted a chapter heading in a 4th (or 5th) class primary Geography book in the last two years: 'Climate Change' and nearly lost my life! How the content could unofficially change before the curricular reviews have been even past the consultation stages is a sure sign that the tail is wagging the dog.
We've seen this also with the content of the materials for RSE. Busy Bodies and the like are ahead of the (gender) curve and spout misinformation about the sex of a baby being determined 'at birth'. So much for the 'Gender Reveal' mini industry, with its paraphernalia of balloons, streamers, bunting, buns, cakes, invitation cards etc.
Not that the new draft curriculums at Primary level look like any improvement on what's been used since 1999, in fact the opposite. Take a look and weep!
Them cunts would be better off coming here and pulling weeds under my cosh , pricks.
What is Dr Michael Redmond's postal address?

My daughter already has a subject in her school called climate action- there is no end to the brain washing.

I have no words (very unusual for me!). But I’m so glad my kid doesn’t attend mainstream school. I feel very lucky to have an alternative option.
Loving all the emails Gerry thanks.
There are no words for how much I despise these fucking people!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Gerry.

When I saw the headline, I thought it was Waterford Whispers! I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
