I'm a bit young to remember Haughey but I always got the sense he had that arsehole thing pegged and that it did Ireland a little good to have him looking down at our counterparts in Europe.
Do we need our own psychopath in the Taoiseach's office to battle for Ireland in the international arena? Some one like Steve Jobs in fact? Is Micheal Martin, too servile, too nice, to act in our best interests? Would we prefer someone like, say, CJH in the job right now rather than him?
I am not suggesting that Gerry is proposing any of these things. They are my own thoughts after reading his article.
Personally, I think Micheal Martin is as good as it can get in official Ireland right now. The Trump era is getting into full swing and I doubt that any world leader could withstand the hurricane about to hit the world economy.
Found it laughable today watching the media desperately trying to spew out the usual anti Trump narrative on the Trade Deal. Media of course in lockstep with the political class. I've always found it curious when the likes of Martin & Harris would be shouting from the rooftops about the mighty single market and customs union. It was their big Brexit sanction. Now they preach how there all for free trade with zero tariffs. So what's the cosy single market club all about. Of course their buddies in media never ask them about it. Looks like Trump is now the Boss of our masters in Brussels. A lot of people say there's no point in voting . Trump proves the fallacy of that. All the media are left with is the hope their good buddies Epstein and Ghlainne Maxwell will expose Trump. Suddenly there very curious about Epstein's contact lists. They are weaponising Epstein for all its worth. It might work. They done it before with Nixon where the swamp got rid of the elected President who won 49 out of 50 states in previous election. Nixon is no Trump though.
Well put, Seanie. Also The Epstein crevice is a darkness that hangs over everything at the moment. I wonder if the favourable trade deal explains Trumps u-turn on supporting Ukraine and Zelenskyy.
I think Gerry what u see is what u get with Trump. He's a deals man. He was sure he'd get a deal done with Putin but has discovered Putin has a different agenda. Putin is winning the war and he has no intention of doing a deal. Putin's got greedy. On Epstein , I'd say Trump has had no involvement but these billionaires always mix in same circles. Trump strikes me as a driven man who is hell bent on shaking up or reversing everything he sees wrong in America. That makes him a target for alot of people but he has the cards right now with Senate, Congress and crucially Supreme court.
Firstly, the Obama´s as a couple are about as fake as the Clintons or the Macrons. Secondly, what are the chances that Obama will pull a ¨Rosie O ´Donnell¨ in September, as the walls close in on him in the U.S.? And finally, what are the chances that Ireland would grant asylum to Obama and waive extradition (100% on that last one).
Distraction (noise) is one of the principal tools of Propaganda.
Th Romans had it figured 2000 years ago, 'Bread and Circuses.
Nothing changes in the control systems of the plebs'
They don’t give a shit about us. Great article.
Depressingly true.
I bet the WEF would qualify for a disadvantaged school grant given the quality of their people.
Chefs kiss 👌🏻

Yeah Charlie would have at least negotiated the Shetland islands for himself in any trade deal.
Lol..I remember my friends used go jumping in his pool on Haughey island when he wasn't around
Thank you Gerry.I share your justified anger at our snàmhìnì weak politicians.
Interesting and thought-provoking.

He can always run that Obama Plaza in Offaly
Put bathhouse Barry in a tent on the canal. It's too good for the c--ts.
100% on the last one. Don’t think Obama will go down. Deal will be struck behind the scenes.
