Wonderful writing. I had an aunt Nellie who was called" innocent", and was minded all her days by her sister Nora. It is reported that on my first day at school I proudly announced that I had three mammies, my own mammy and my auntie Nora and Nellie! They came on every family trip and holiday and my father was so good to them, especially Nellie. Nora never married, so in a sense I wasn't wrong.
I had a few goes at this piece because it was long. But I'm glad I persisted to the end. The bit about cutting turf with Uncle John was quite brilliant.
I am reading Frank O'Connor at the moment and those couple of paragraphs wouldn't have been out of place in one of his stories.
Regina Doherty currently a Fine Gael senator( Formely convicted for tax evasion) told a hearing of Scotlands Holyrood’s equalities committee in 2022
that Ireland had “probably about nine genders”, defended a push to rewrite legislation to refer to “pregnant people”, and insisted people other than women “can absolutely get pregnant”.
The irony of a conservative Irish government minister presenting herself as an expert in gender and also being a part of a larger Irony where a conservative Irish government acted more left than the far left ,basically did the work for them brought in and delivered Self ID gender woo woo to Ireland which was some would say done by deception duping the public into voting for Self I'd the same election that they were voting in for gay marriage . The public also that day voted in Self ID .. resulting now in an Ireland 2024 where any citizens with ten euro in their pocket can go to a Post office fill out a form and change your gender hey presto! And bobs you're uncle now maybe your aunt. But it's all ok love is love.we must be kind,kind , endlessly kind.

Other websites say it's ever changing, every gender has it's own flag. yes there is a bear flag for hairy bear homosexual men and so much more not trying to be smart It's actually one of the better ones in my humble opinions.
Many religions in Ireland probably all organised in 2024 ,not even going there about which religions,don't recognise Gender ideology.

But ask yourself -what was and is in it all for the conservative Fine Fail and Fine Gael, the likes of Regina of the 9 Genders.Most of them are practicing Catholics and belong to a church that doesn't recognise the ideology they are pushing on Irish children.
Big pharma as usual has it's dirty hands in the mix because if anyone is gaining by getting our children put on hormones before age 6 it's Big Pharma for big profit.

Aa a former member of the Irish left I can relate with West's Awake description of being abandoned in a desolate bog area with just myself and my own thoughts maybe a book now and then. Maybe I'll meet your uncle's ghost and pay my respects. For those of us that never fitted in have never fitted in and no amount of woke will force us.
Funny enough that the left are the greatest totalitarians you will ever meet.raise any point I wrote about and watch your self loose friendships, jobs, have your name and reputation smeared quicker than you can say 9-genders.
This really is a very moving story and I think us older people remember similar situations and the natural nurturing nature of our Mothers .We all had uncle John's in our lives and it was just the way it was and mostly the local community just accepted them for who they were. We had Carlow the mad house , and I don't mind saying my own beautiful, caring, strong Mother was sent to there a few time's in the seventies with post natal depression for a few weeks at a time, but she was a gutsy woman and never wore that with shame nor did we . What kept the world sane were the Mothers and over the last say thirty years they have been grinding away at women and trying to destroy this natural ability to hold us all together if that make's sense. I believe Women need to really take a step back and have a look at what is at stake here for their futures and the futures of the generations to follow.
In my opinion almost all the people leading most organisations need to be examined to see if they are helping or hindering our future.

The state will yank the kid, then have their way with them.
They move on the weak.
Nothing new.

Suffering is part of life, and we are told by Jesus to embrace the cross with him. This was the consequence of the disobedience in the garden of Eden as Adam and Eve were cast out from wishing to make themselves as gods. We all have difficulties in our lives; it's a matter of, do we accept them. This is how saints are made, with our free will, and how we witness to the world the power of love to each other.
You became who you are in large part because of what you saw from those around you.
Though not easy, we should remember that we are given enough grace to manage the hardships that are handed to us in life and trust that our Lord is with us if we chose to accept them.
Denying the cross is the contemporary obsession with so much of what is wrong with the world today. It means we chose to walk along with the prince of this world, Satan. The powers that be are happy to enlist us all in this course, and that most certainly includes the cruel and deadly medical industrial complex. We are each other's keepers and should keep our trust that faith, hope, and love will serve us well.
How about some cop on and common sense? Tell these signal idiots it time to get real. Most of them want to be hip and victims. Mental health problems are real, but please do not confuse perverts with real victims.
