Time chimes by
In tocks and ticks
Eyeing the waste
Of youthful kicks
Gently sighing
Yet, quietly knowing
Hers is the only
Face not growing
As limbs slow down
She picks up pace
Grimly gleeful
That none can beat her
The tock and tick
Such a deadly pair
Where one goes first
The other will hare
As the end approaches
They whiz right by
Grinning softly
With steady voices
As time…
