Gerry, I admire your courage and honesty. Keep up the writing and also the chats with John Waters. The chats are amazing for their clarity and humorous jargon along with the respect you show each other. The ain't much depth of soul in our crazy world today but you have it along with John, Louise (Roseingrave) and others who write on substack. You inspire more people than you realize. Keep her lit 🔥

I salute you Gerry. It was a brave decision bit the right decision. Sounded like your soul was being ground down there. I felt like that for years in my banking job. I am gone out of it since 2013. Never looked back.

Might have been a wild decision, but it was a wise one too as I hope you realise.

It took me a couple of years to realise the same when I left my corporate job a long time ago. Now I see it as one of the best decisions I ever made.

Keep going Gerry!

I do remember this, I enjoyed the read once again. We are all choosing to wake up, get out of the framed up boxes we have been in. The transition is a decision, we all must choose. Easier said than done. Tell us how was your journey since then? would you change anything? What is the vision for the future or are you living in the moment?

The Irish workplace has become a prison. Any conscious person with a functional ce trail nervous system will become physically repulsed by it. Fair play to you Gerry.

Best of luck to you Gerry. I applaud your steps towards ridding yourself of the shackles of working for someone else's ultimate benefit. Time to benefit YOU!! Something even better than you could imagine will come of this. I have mostly worked for myself my whole life. It's good.

I didn't know this when I took out a subscription Gerry. Maybe I got a nudge from Above. With the discount you're offering now it's well worth it. I hope you get many more subscribers. Wishing you every Blessing in the future. God's ways are not our ways and maybe ask Him for directions from time to time. Worked for me from age 33. I'm 68 now.

Wow. Great story. Have done that 3 times in my life: a “Prisoner”-type ”I resign!” Never regretted any of it for even one moment. Bravo!
